WHOA! Douglas K. reporting in to give a review of Fry'n Pan Family Restaurant in Sioux Falls (SD). This place was a staple of my high school and just-out-of-high-school years. Way before I met my totally sick girlfriend, this (sorta-) diner was where I first got my late-night cigarettes-and-coffee binges on, had the annoying old guys at the nearby tables try to chat us young-un's up, dealt with resident crazy people at 3am, ordered really, really bad food again and again. ... Fry'n Pan introduced me to the diner experience, which I then tried to enjoy for a few years in college before fairly well abandoning it. So it's "A-ok". Never, ever go here for the food. When you're in Sioux Falls, it's hard enough to find food that won't make you feel wiped out after you eat it. Don't punish yourself even further by coming here expecting not to feel like absolute shit after you eat. Come for the Fry'n Pan experience, if you come at all. Accept. Also, never step foot in here during the day. That's just sad. Coming, going -- you never know with Douglas K. Where will I pop up next? Des Moines, IA? Houston, TX? REVELSTOKE, BC? Does this jawn even reach up to Canada????? PEACE! Douglas K.

Cinnamon roll was the size of a small child's head. Pretty good food. We had a pretty long wait to get our food but we had a large party of 9. Thought I'd go crazy and get a cinnamon roll added to my order. The thing arrived about the size of a small toaster. It was kind of dry. Well, really dry I should say. About a half dozen pats of butter accompanied the monster pastry. It might be considered a meal in itself but being the considerate guest I am, I ate it all. Ok.. ok... my dad had a couple bites but I could have finished it myself.

Let's be honest people, this place is just average. There is nothing special about the Fry'n Pan except it's name (which is also average). If your looking for a tasty dining out experience, don't waste your time and money at Fry'n Pan.

One of the greatest dining experiences of my life. The waiter was extremely nice and we received our food extremely fast. The food was delicious and great for the price. Anytime I'm in Sioux Falls I will be coming here!

On a recent trip to Sioux Falls, we ate here several times. It's diner food. Solid diner food, though, so as long as that's what you're expecting, you'll be happy. The thing that I remember really enjoying were their shakes. Very nice shakes. And old-school pies. I'm a big fan of old-school desserts -- especially if they're done well. I'd never had a slice of sour cream and raisin pie before, but I was damned if I was gonna go home without trying one there. Of course, I was also crazy full after dinner. So I conned a friend into splitting a slice. We couldn't finish it. All those fluffy, light meringue peaks. But it was so very delicious. The crust was light and flaky, and the taste of the pie itself was fantastic. Nice, moist raisins -- not those hard, dry things that look like insects and can't be chewed. One of the lightest meringues I've ever tasted, and nicely browned. If you're not a fan of diner food, get a drink and some pie and people-watch, like others here have said. Good times. But it's best with friends.

Mediocre diner food. Not bad but not extraordinary. The desserts looked good but did not try them. Just a quick stop on the way through. Good service.

I really wanted to like this place but I simply cannot. We stopped for breakfast last week. The waitress came and took our drink order, and the coffee came quickly. From then on things went down hill. The coffee was luke warm at best. After placing our order it took a very long time to get our breakfast. We did not order anything unusual, but several other tables received their food long before we did. As for the food, the eggs were good, but the bacon was terribly overcooked. I won't be going back anytime soon, if ever.

This place is great for emergency munchies and late-night meals. It's dependably open late, which is superb for night-owls. The service has been hit or miss, but you can't expect too much care when you show up at 1 in the morning. The breakfast stuff I had here recently was pretty solid for early-mornin' chow and I was satisfied. Thanks for staying open!

We stopped in here because fryin pan is usually a safe staple. After waiting ten miutes to order then another 30 minutes of watching tables that had seated after us served we asked our waitress and she informed us the kitchen was busy with a big table that had also seated after us. I will go back to othwr fryin pans but never this one. We walked out without eating.
